Honda has grown in to a world enterprise, but it has still kept its core philosophy intact by maintaining a local viewpoint. Through developing a company to meet the community's needs, Honda strives to manufacture the products people want. This holds true in more than 160 countries around the world where our products are sold, and in the nearly 100 plants in 33 different countries where our products are manufactured. Building products to meet the needs of the community, most of our products are produced in the region where they are sold.

Commitment to Local Markets

Extensive operations in Ohio highlight Honda's dedication to manufacturing in the markets it serves, for the markets that it serves. The auto, the engine, and the motorcycle plants in Ohio represent a combined investment of more than $3.8 billion. Purchases from North American suppliers totaled more than $7 billion for the fiscal year ended March, 2000.

The commitment of Honda of America to hire from the 15 counties surrounding its four plants has made it the largest private employer in West Central Ohio. The support of these communities has played a large role in Honda's success. There is a piece of these communities in every product our associates build.

Honda's determination to build a strong presence in the United States brought us to the forefront of the American motor vehicle industry. Our continued commitment to superior products will keep us in that position for years to come.
